That said, I'm glad that we at least we got any localization in the first place, but Nintendo treating it at "lesser" themselves influenced my perception of the game. Unlike previous games, there were no newly recorded English songs (the Japanese singing was replaced by instrumentals), very few newly recorded English lines/SFX, and the ones that were recorded are IMO rather poor, and there are spelling / consistency errors in some of the game's text. Personally, I might think of it as "lesser" sometimes because of Its English localization, which they were very clearly given a lower budget. The new minigames are some of the best in the series, too! And the challenge train is one of the best ideas they've ever had as well. The arcade release also features multiplayer, even though the first main Rhythm Heaven game to have multiplayer was Rhythm Heaven Fever for the Wii.Rhythm Tengoku was also the only game licensed by Nintendo for the Sega Naomi, and it was one of the very few games developed by Nintendo and Sega respectively. But set the game audio to Japanese and get past the story stuff, and the 3DS game is definitely among the top tier in the series. However, I personally welcomed it, especially since it was now on 3DS and I could play them portably, show them to friends, etc.īasically, I guess I sometimes feel like it's "lesser" because of its lower budget localization and its annoyingly long story. There is also a lot of completely cut-and-pasted Wii content when compared to remade DS or GBA content (even four of the GBA games were taken from the Wii) and I can see some being unhappy about that. #RHYTHM HEAVEN SERIES#It's mostly great. The only thing I hated was addition of the story that was unskippable and far too long. Rhythm Heaven is a rhythm game series made by Nintendo that began with a project plan brought to the company by Tsunku ().Developed in cooperation with the team behind WarioWare, the first title Rhythm Tengoku released in Japan for the Game Boy Advance in 2006.
